Postnatal depression

Postnatal Depression (PND) affects approximately 1 in 7 women within the first year after giving birth. It’s important that you know you are not alone.

Post Natal Depression can come with a truck load of guilt, frustration, exhaustion, anger, regret, feeling like a failure and a myriad of emotions and numbness that not everyone will understand or even acknowledge.

I work with mothers as an objective listener, teacher and support person. I teach mothers both self regulation and Paediatric Massage to create moments of connection along with any other techniques that may be of service to mothers and their children.

Self-regulation techniques are important for Mums in those moments of overwhelm, stress and frustration. I focus on a ‘Mum first’ approach in a world where mothers can very much feel like an after-thought. Mothers desperately need to prioritize self-care and reconnection to their bodies in order to care for their children and they very much need to allow themselves to be a priority too.

I teach Mums how to use baby bodywork and Paediatric Massage to help connect and bond with their baby and/or children. It’s such a strong tool to utilize as a means of connection and discovery of their child, especially in a world of hurried schedules and overstimulation. This is such a gorgeous way to start to develop that bond and one-on-one play time between both mother and child in a calm, relaxed way that can very much help to develop that bridge in the fog of Post Natal Depression.

I offer a non-judgemental environment where you can learn some tools to settle yourself in those moments of frustration, ways to bond with your child and create a moment where you can step outside of the routine of struggling through daily life. I’m here to listen and I’m here to help.

Touch is the universal language of love.

It requires no words, no explanation, no deeper level of communication, it speaks louder than any language and is understood the world over.

Touch is just love in motion.
